Nimalan Yoganathan is a PhD student in Media and Communication Studies at Concordia University. He is working under the supervision of Dr. Yasmin Jiwani who is a Research Chair in Intersectionality, Violence & Resistance.

Nimalan’s research interests include anti-racist activism, sound as resistance, decolonized and intersectional modes of listening, as well as how race and racism are represented in news, popular media and children’s literature. Nimalan is also a parent of two young children and firmly believes in the necessity of anti-racist parenting philosophies.
